Go Foil New wings

GOFOIL NEWS
New Front Wings
We have incorporated “Steps” into the new 3 lines of front wings we have coming out late this fall.
The Steps are a new concept that helps with the same benefits of the winglets but on steroids! They resist overfilling more than the winglets, help steady the ride in the up and down movements (pitch control) , and also turn better. The 3 new lines of front wings will be named in reference to their projected Square Centimeters (cm2) for less confusion when comparing to other foil brands.

Now let’s get into the 3 new lines:

The EZ foil line is what the name implies, they are easy to ride.
The EZ foil line rides at a more constant speed especially when turning so they will not accelerate as much and they will keep a steady pace. This makes it easier to do transitions when winging and/or help you stay in the pocket when prone surfing and not accelerate away from the wave.
The EZ foils are fairly thin but have a slightly slower draft forward type of foil section . This type of Foil design helps you control your speed a little bit easier than our faster models.
What we have noticed with the EZ foils is that you can handle a bigger size wing than what the square centimeters lead you to believe. For instance the EZ 1600 sound like a huge wing but you can handle it pretty easily still in a lot of wind!

The GT Foil line
The “GT” stands for “Go To” . These are the same outlines and sizes as our very popular NL series.
The GT’s have similar traits to the NL’s but with many upgrades in performance .
First thing you will notice is that they are easier to control the pitch or up and down movement. This helps you to go fast with more confidence over the NL.
Second thing is that they turn better.
Third thing is that they resist overfilling better!  You can get the wing tips out of the water and recover more easily and you might have seen many of the riders turning with the tips out in recent testing.
The 4th thing they do better than an NL is the pumping. The GT’s pump much better than the NL’s and get up on foil slightly easier and quicker.  This gives the GT a better low-end per size than the NL’s. What we have noticed is that you can now use a smaller wing to get the same amount of low end. For instance Dave Kalama uses the GT 1250 downwind paddling more than he used to use the NL160.
Both the GT1250 and NL160 are the same size and outline.
He says the GT1250 now almost replaces the need for his NL190 downwind, which is 1400 cm2.

The RS Line
The “RS” stands for Race Series.
These are faster wings and even faster than the GT’s.
These wings are great for racing when Downwind Paddling or Winging. They are very Fast, Turn, and Pump very well too. They are slightly thinner than the GT’s which gives them the extra speed.
They also cross over to Waves with SUP and Prone riders.  The RS1000 now is a favorite for Kaden Pritchard and Max Moquin on their prone boards both surfing and prone downwind. They used it Dock starting as well.
Dave Kalama really likes the RS1150 for Downwind Paddling on the good days over here on Maui. He was clocked one day averaging 18.4 mph or 29.7 KPH for a nautical mile (1.85 km) !!
The smaller sizes RS 500 and 650 are what Alex rides when he is winging and trying to go over 30 + mph . He also uses these when racing downwind on the Wing.

BENEFITS OF THE NEW “STEPS”

The Steps give the hydrofoil a more positive  feeling through the water which leads to better  pitch control. “Pitch control“ means that you  have better control with the up and down  movement of the hydrofoil through the water.  Better pitch control helps you to go faster with  more confidence.

The steps create less drag by disrupting the  Wing Vortices.

The angled Steps help with being able to  initiate turns and redirect the hydrofoil. This  means you can turn easier and sharper!

The Steps help to stop overfoiling. This is  accomplished by disrupting air travel across  the wing surface when you get close to the  surface of the water. The step helps to keep  the air from traveling straight across the wing  surface by disrupting the easy flow of air  across the wing by having an abrupt contour  change. You will notice that you can get  the wingtips out of the water on turns and  reconnect with the water flow more easily than  other wings. Twist in wing tips also can help  with this problem but the “Steps” are like Twist  or Winglets on steroids!

WINDWINGS GOFOIL
GO-this is the standard wing elliptical outline, meant for the everyday rider.  The elliptical style is easier to luff so they work great for higher wind conditions. Powerful with control, good all around wing.
Will come in 2.2, 2.7, 3.5, 4.5 for the Eliptical and 4.5, 5.5 and 6.5  for the Square Model.

GO S (S=squared)-this is a squared tip wing. Fantastic for pumping up to a foiling position in lighter winds. Lighter wind wing, tips make it easy to pump up to a foil, less drag from the tips, easy to flip and handle in the water when not foiling. (this is important compared to other wings while balancing on your board and try to flip the wing to correct postion)
Will come in  4.5, 5.5, 6.5.
The first thing you will notice about the Go Foil wings is that they have a solid, stiffer feeling.  These wings have large leading edges and middle struts which help maintain the shape of the wings and give you positive stiff feed back.
Features:
• Twin windows
• Mulitple handles plus two diaganal handles and perpindicular handle at the front of the middle strut
• Stiff leading edge
• Two valve system, one valve on leading edge one on the center strut
• Wrist leash
• Belt comes with the wings that you can double as a waist leash by attaching to your Wrist leash
