Designed as our primary downwind wing for endless glides on open ocean bumps and stiff offering smooth turning capabilities. The larger surface area of the Maliko 200 makes it the primary choice of those riders looking to take downwinders to the next level or needing maximum lift in the surf.

We've used this wing a lot in smaller wave conditions and it feels very solid and not twitchy at all. A very floaty wing with tonnes of glide however it sucks up any wave power very quickly so can catch you off guard and over foil easily if you are not tuned into it with your board set up. For downwinding the float in the wing really helps catch any ocean power so as an allrounder for small surf and down winding its a real ACE up your sleeve, but the ultimate lump and bump catcher is the Maliko 280. 

What do you get ? - Go foils are now supplied with wing and mast covers to keep your wings pristine and protected, Mallet, screw driver and screws are also provided and depending on the package purchased a wing suitcase for triple packs. As Go foils are primarily Tuttle mounted masts in 24.5" or 29.5" unless ordered otherwise (plate mount is available in a 28.5" mast ) you will need to purchase a plate mount if the board you are using only has track mounts.(Two US boxes)

  • Under 65kg: Downwind wing for advanced riders or when you just need the most maximum lift possible.
  • 65-80kg: Downwind wing for advanced riders in windy conditions. *
  • 80-95kg+: Downwind wing for advanced riders in windy conditions and / or small wave conditions. *

Front Wing Construction:

  • 100% carbon pre-preg skins with epoxy polymer hybrid core, integral cone connection for maximum strength, all cured at 250° F in an autoclave at very high pressure.

Features Include:

  • Significant reinforcements: solid carbon at the wing tips, leading edge and trailing edge for robust durability when handling on the beach and installing the wings.
  • High strength / weight ratio which means the wings float!
  • Cone system attachment allows the rider to have a stable reliable connection between fuselage and wing.

Rear Wing Construction

The Maliko uses the same rear Stabilizer wing as the IWA (Blue in colour)

Some people prefer using the red Kai wing with the Maliko 200 wing as it loosens up the foil for flat water pumping - Tail wings can be ordered separately, but fitting them may void warranty

Go Foil - masts update

This isn't particularly new news from Go foil but if you didn't already know
18/19 Summary:

The 24.5” Tuttle mast remains in the line in limited combinations.  
This will continue to be the go-to product for entry level or riders that are conscious of the tide / water depth at their spot.

- The 29.5” Tuttle mast is the new go to foil mast, it is stiffer and has a wider cord. This will help reduce over foiling.
 
The Nalu in the 29.5” Tuttle is the go-to product for kite foiling.  Awesome!

- The 28.5" Plate mast is designed for the prone surf customer.  
This is why is comes with only the smaller wings combinations.

So the Go foil Maliko is not designed for waves...its more of a downwind wing ...but take it into waves and it can work very well !

The original surf wing design that started the revolution, the Classic! The Kai 120 provides the highest performance for surfing and aggressive turning with total control.

Rider Profile

  • Under 65kg: This is your wing when you need more lift.
  • 65-80kg: This is your most versatile foil.
  • 80-95kg: Riders wanting less lift and more control.

In our opinion and others will back us up i'm sure , This is the 'Go to' prone foilsurfing wing . It can be used for SUP foiling for lighter riders or for bigger conditions (shoulder height and above ) , but for the average 65-80kg rider wanting to prone paddle into waves and foilsurf the KAI is the wing you will want to use time and time again. Lots of volume in the 24" wingspan and pumping glide. It has to be in your foil quiver bag ...no ifs or buts .

The kai is offered in a double surf package (Kai & Iwa wing) 24.5 inch Tuttle mast , a 28.5 Plate mast or a 29.5 Tuttle mast.

Foiling wing sizes explained

I thought I would take the opportunity to start to build a library of front wing sizes for quick reference. As foiling advances forward riders are wanting different performance characteristics and therefore most brands now offer a selection of wing sizes.

The first foil you buy is important as it has to be suitable for your use...like deciding on the right size surfboard.  

Quick guide – remember this is based on a starting wing size for the appropriate weight in kg being pulled by a boat at 7 knots minimum – 10 knots maximum or surfing waves in the 2-3ft size range. As you progress and want to venture into bigger or even smaller conditions the wing size can change dramatically.The bigger the wing size, the more lift is generally achieved but a bigger wing has more drag than a smaller wing so bigger is not always better . There will be times when you could feel ‘over winged’ and the foil generates too much speed and lift and vice versa – foiling therefore requires careful riding and trimming to avoid wing breaches and wipeouts !

Bigger waves/ speed = smaller foils

Smaller waves/ speed = larger foils

For Downwinding in ocean swell and depending on your experience the bigger the better for beginners, whereas as yo progress you can get up and foiling with a smaller wing.

MAST SIZE

For beginners a shorter mast is advisable and a wider board also more stable especially if learning behind a boat in choppy conditions , for slower speeds learning on bigger wing of 2000cm2 + will generally get a 95kg rider up in 5-7knots …perfect for learning the basics.
